Hi, I'm Lorcan Quinn, the General Manager of White Mausu, a brand focused on making food that makes people happy. We aim to create exceptional condiments that become household staples!
What inspired you to join the natural health sector?
While we aren't exclusively focused on the natural health sector, it’s a significant market for us due to the inherent benefits of our products. Our offerings are free from harmful additives, making them an excellent choice for those seeking clean, wholesome ingredients. Additionally, they pair beautifully with healthy food options, making them a natural fit for the space. As a result, our products have gained strong traction and resonate deeply with the health-conscious community.
Where did you get the idea for your brand?
The idea for White Mausu came from our founder Katie’s love of Asian cuisine, having grown up in Hong Kong.
What makes your brand unique?
White Mausu stands out because we focus on creating high-quality products without compromise, particularly in flavour. We stay true to our mission without getting distracted, as this work is never complete. Achieving excellence takes constant focus, and that’s what we strive for over the long term.
What are your company’s core values?
Quality, honesty, and giving back. We also believe in being transparent about our ingredients and processes, empowering our customers to make informed choices.
How do you support your community?
At White Mausu, we’re passionate about food and supporting our community by sharing this love through our newsletter and social media, where we create and share recipes. We also donate a portion of our profits to the local tree planting charity, Hometree. These guys are doing incredible work, and I encourage anyone reading this to check them out!
What has been the most rewarding part of your brand’s journey?
The most rewarding part has been giving back in good times. Thanks to our awesome customers, we were able to donate €11,320 to Hometree and Aclai Palestine last year! Receiving positive feedback from customers who are self-confessed White Mausu addicts is also amazing. It’s great seeing this love spread around the world, with stockists now in 13 countries!
What, in your opinion, makes Irish brands unique?
Irish brands stand out because of our deep-rooted connection to heritage, craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality. Ireland has a rich tradition of artisanal food production. We prioritise quality over mass production, which may stem from a history of scarcity and the need to make the most of limited resources.
What is your favourite product from your brand?
It’s hard to pick just one, but if I had to choose one I couldn’t live without, I’d say it would be our Smoky Chilli Oil.
Tell us about something that has shaped your brand.
One defining moment for White Mausu was the chance meeting of Katie and Jasper while working at Dublin's iconic Fumbally Cafe. The chemistry between them is magic and has been a driving force behind the brand’s success.
What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
In the future, we hope to expand White Mausu’s reach, bringing our products to a wider audience while continuing to grow the brand with integrity. As I always say, we’re only getting started! We would also love to scale up to a point where we could build direct sourcing relationships with farmers — that would bring us an incredible amount of joy.
