Behind The Label with GoodToEat Ghee

Evergreen: Behind The Label with GoodToEat Ghee

February 06, 2026

Introduce yourself.

I’m Mohini, co-founder of GoodToEat Ghee, a handcrafted Irish ghee producer in Dublin. Inspired by our Indian roots and Ireland’s premium grass-fed butter, we craft fresh, wholesome ghee using traditional methods. Made daily in small batches, each jar brings flavour, nutrition, and care straight to your kitchen — from our hearts to yours.

Living in Ireland, surrounded by some of the world’s best grass-fed Irish butter, we were surprised that no fresh, locally made ghee existed. That inspired us to craft handcrafted Irish ghee, using traditional slow-cooking methods and high-quality local dairy. What began in our kitchen soon reached the homes of friends and neighbours, and their love encouraged us to grow.

What inspired you to join the natural health sector?

We were inspired to enter the ghee space when we realised how limited high-quality, fresh, Irish-made ghee was. Most of what was available in Ireland was imported and mass-produced, often losing the flavour and nutrients that make ghee so special.

Living here with access to exceptional grass-fed dairy, it felt natural to craft ghee locally — slow-cooked, nutrient-rich, and full of flavour. This wasn’t just a business choice; it was personal. We wanted to nourish our own family with wholesome, traditional ghee and share the same fresh, Irish-made goodness with others who care about clean, mindful eating.

Where did you get the idea for your brand?

The idea for GoodToEat came from a personal need: after our son was born, we wanted fresh, high-quality ghee in our own kitchen. We kept noticing the same thing — while Ireland is famous for world-class grass-fed butter, locally made ghee simply didn’t exist. That gap inspired us to create GoodToEat, bringing wholesome, nutrient-rich ghee from our kitchen to yours.

What makes your brand unique?

GoodToEat Ghee is the art of nourishment, crafted with care, heritage, and quality in every jar. We begin with Ireland’s finest grass-fed butter, slowly transforming it into ghee using traditional small-batch methods that capture its full flavour, aroma, and natural nutrients.

Every spoonful is pure and additive-free, reflecting the same attention and care we give our own family table. Handcrafted daily, our ghee is a celebration of authentic Irish dairy, timeless culinary tradition, and the thoughtful touch of those who truly care about what goes into your food.

What are your company’s core values?

Our core values are freshness, honesty, and care. We try to make clean, natural ghee that preserves nutrients and flavour without any chemicals what-so-ever. The top three things which we thrive for everyday is:

  • Making Fresh, small-batch production. No additives or preservatives: Just pure, wholesome ghee.
  • Locally sourced Irish dairy: Supporting local farmers while ensuring quality.
  • Transparency and trust: What we make for our family is what we share with yours.

Respect for tradition, responsibility to the community, and commitment to clean eating guide every step of our process.

How do you support your community?

We, GoodToEat, started at home — sharing fresh Ghee with friends, neighbours, and local families in its initial days. This community-first approach remains central to everything we do as that’s the only key in setting up any new product in the market.

Last year, which was our first year of being out officially, we engaged directly with our customers at local markets and on social media, offering tastings, answering questions, and listening to their feedback. This direct connection is valuable to us and it ensures that our locally made Irish ghee continues to meet the needs of our community and fosters trust in our brand.

What has been the most rewarding part of your brand’s journey?

I must say, the most rewarding part, so far, has been seeing a product made for our own family become trusted in other homes.

From early feedback from friends, community circle and local markets to being stocked in stores across Ireland, hearing customers praise the taste, freshness, and quality of GoodToEat Ghee has been deeply fulfilling. Knowing that families rely on our ghee for both nutrition and flavour is what drives us every day.

What in your opinion makes Irish brands unique?

Irish brands stand out for honesty, care, and a focus on quality over scale. Products are made intentionally, with transparency and respect for local sourcing.

Visiting markets abroad, we noticed the global demand for authentic Irish products. People value the freshness, authenticity, and community connection that Irish brands naturally deliver.

What is your favourite product from your brand?

Currently, GoodToEat offers one product: handcrafted Irish Ghee. Seeing families trust its freshness and flavour motivates us to expand our range to flavoured Ghee, protein-rich mango yoghurt (Lassi), and Paneer, bringing the same quality to more wholesome products.

Tell us about something that has shaped your brand

My husband and I, we believe in questioning what we consume. Unlike many other brands that prioritise scale over quality, we focus on creating Ghee that is honest, wholesome, and crafted with integrity. Using Ireland’s premium Grass-fed dairy and traditional slow-cooking methods, every jar reflects care, flavour, and nutrition.

Our journey has been guided by our customers — their trust, feedback, and loyalty remind us that authenticity, quality, and community are at the heart of everything we do. GoodToEat isn’t just ghee; it’s a commitment to nourishing food, made thoughtfully for families who value what they put on their table.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

Looking ahead, our top most priority is to get all the necessary certifications for GoodtoEat Ghee like Bordbia Made in Ireland, Grass-fed product, Organic etc sorted. Parallely we aim to grow GoodToEat while staying true to our values: quality, freshness, and authenticity.

  • Introducing new ghee flavours, dairy-based protein buttermilk drinks(lassi), and Paneer.
  • Educating families about the benefits of Ghee, clean eating, and local Irish dairy.
  • Making fresh, natural Ghee accessible to households across Ireland.

Our ultimate goal is for GoodToEat to be a trusted, go-to ghee brand in Irish kitchens, known for both taste and wellness.
