Where do I position my Mooncup?
Can I wear my Mooncup overnight?
Is it okay to wear my Mooncup when I'm exercising?
Is the Mooncup messy?
The Mooncup Original is made from soft medical grade silicone (quartz and sandstone), is latex-free and contains no dyes, BPA, PFAS, phthalates, petroleum plastic, bleaches or toxins. It is not the same type of silicone that is used for breast implants.
We are dedicated to maintaining the accuracy of product information. However, as ingredients and usage instructions may change over time, we cannot guarantee complete accuracy. For the most reliable and current details, please refer directly to the manufacturers' information.
Using a Mooncup is easy once you’ve got the hang of it. Here’s a quick guide to using a period cup:
- Wash your hands and get comfy.
- Fold the cup – we love the Punchdown or C-fold.
- Insert it – gently separate your labia with one hand, and guide the cup in with the other, aiming it back toward your tailbone (not straight up).
- Let it pop open – once it’s in, run a finger around the rim to check it’s fully open and sitting just below the cervix.
- When it’s time to empty, gently break the seal and remove.
Tip: It can take a couple of cycles to feel confident. Try practising when you're not on your period - no pressure, no mess!
