I am Eileen Denham one of the co-founders of The Home Moment, my business background is in events and hospitality. The Home Moment was created when myself and my co-founders decided to pivot into product.
What inspired you to join the natural health sector?
Myself and the co-founders of The Home Moment Deirdre Young and Sinead Bailey went from working on experimental events to developing a range of beautiful experiential Irish made, earth conscious candle products.
Where did you get the idea for your brand?
We are three women from the hospitality, music and events sector, pivoting into product we wanted to translate everything we had done with events and creating atmospheres and bring this into product. We choose candles and scent based products with the soundscape experience to touch on the strongest senses of smell and sound.
What makes your brand unique?
We are more than just a product we are an experience, included in each box is a seed card that can be re planted in our beautiful amber glass jars & on the seed card is a QR code bringing the customer to a library of nature soundscapes to enjoy when the scent fills the customers home. Wellbeing is at the heart of our company & we are consistently evolving the psychology of scent alongside our soundscape and meditation sound experiences to give our customer's their Home Wellbeing Moment.
What are your company core values?
At the heart of our company is our earth conscious ethos, our wax is vegan, all our packaging is sustainable & our wax is ethically sourced.
How do you support your community?
We work with the Hometree charity donating one euro for every product to re plant native trees in Ireland.
What has been the most rewarding part of your brand's journey?
The fast expansion of our stockist network in Ireland and the support from the retail sales teams for our product alongside some of the brand collaborations we have done with the likes of the St Patrick's Festival.
What in your opinion makes Irish brands unique?
Irish makers are passionate about quality & innovation. Taking influence from our rich cultural base, Irish products tend to have an edge on an unique offering for customers. For new Irish companies sustainability is at the core of most new business & we see Irish makers paving this ethos for the conscious consumer.
What is your favourite product from your brand?
For me personally my scent is Earth, it reminds me of happy childhood moments in Glendalough, forest adventures and being close to nature.
Tell us about something that has shaped your brand?
The feedback from our customers and stockists has been heart-warming, we are seeing customers make an emotional connection with our products, picking their favourite scent that evokes memories. We love seeing the positive effect the overall Home Moment scent and soundscape experience is having on the wellbeing of our regular customers.
What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
The Home Moment would like to establish itself as leaders in experience based Irish made candle products, we will be going into the export market next year & our team is consistently developing the experience based aspects of our company, working with a number of wellbeing specialists in Ireland.
