Evergreen: Behind The Label With Óir Tonics

Introduce yourself

Hi, I’m Edel Breslin, founder of Óir Tonics, a natural wellness brand rooted in Irish tradition and wholefood ingredients. I’m based in Ennis, Co. Clare, and I’ve always been passionate about how food can nourish not just the body but also the mind – Óir Tonics is really an extension of that love.

What inspired you to join the natural health sector?

It came from a personal need – I wanted to support my health naturally, without relying on supplements. My granny used to talk about how carrageen moss was used to keep people well in winter, and I started to experiment with Irish sea moss in my own kitchen during lockdown. It became a way to stay connected to nature, while feeling good from the inside out.

Where did you get the idea for your brand?

It all started with wanting a simple, food-based way to support gut and immune health. I began making a tonic with Irish sea moss, apple cider vinegar, and ginger – sharing it with friends and family. The feedback was incredible, and I realised there was a space for a brand that used traditional Irish ingredients in a modern, effective way.

What makes your brand unique?

We focus on wholefoods, sustainability, and quality – everything we make is formulated with Irish life science labs, using ingredients that are both local and powerful. We also work closely with Irish growers and suppliers who share our values. And it’s not just about health – it’s about taste, experience, and building daily rituals that people genuinely enjoy.

What are your company’s core values?

Sustainability, authenticity, community, and quality. We care deeply about what goes into our products and where it comes from. We’re proud to support Irish suppliers and to create in a way that respects both people and planet.

How do you support your community?

We manufacture in Ennis, supporting local jobs, and we love collaborating with other small Irish producers. We’re also developing events like the ‘Óir Social Supper Club’ to bring people together over good food and wellness conversations. It’s about building a community, not just a customer base.

What has been the most rewarding part of your brand’s journey?

Honestly, seeing people feel better because of something we made. Whether it’s someone saying they’ve had more energy, or their gut health has improved – that real impact means everything. And getting to work with passionate, like-minded people who care about natural health as much as I do – that’s really special.

What, in your opinion, makes Irish brands unique?

There’s such a richness in Irish brands – we’re rooted in tradition, close to nature, and we put so much care into what we create. There’s a real honesty in how we approach business, and I think people around the world feel that.

What is your favourite product from your brand?

I really love our Moss Boss Tonic Lion’s Mane – it’s one I wanted to make for so long, but sourcing an Irish-grown mushroom was absolutely key. We finally found an amazing grower in Ireland, and it all came together at a time when Lion’s Mane became such a trend – but for us, it was always about doing it right, with integrity. It’s packed with ingredients for cognitive support and focus, and it tastes incredible.

Tell us about something that has shaped your brand.

Working with high-quality Irish suppliers who share our values has shaped Óir Tonics massively. Their passion for sustainability, quality, and innovation pushes us to stay true to our mission. Collaborating with them makes everything we do better, from product development to the end experience for our customers.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

We want to keep developing products that support people’s health naturally, and continue working with top-tier Irish suppliers who care about quality as much as we do. Our goal is to grow sustainably, reach more people, and stay true to our roots – creating tonics that genuinely help, using nature’s best ingredients.
