Introduce yourself

I’m Lisa, one of the co-founders of Gigi. My co-founder, Jennie, and I are both Nutritional Therapists with a huge passion for female health. We each bring diverse backgrounds to the team, Jennie was previously a Management Consultant at PwC, while I had been running my private nutrition practice since 2016.

What inspired you to join the natural health sector?

I've always been passionate about nutrition, cooking, and wellness. In my early 20s, I struggled with hormonal imbalances and felt overwhelmed by all the conflicting information out there. Once I finally got to the root of my issues, I knew I wanted to help other women going through the same thing. That journey inspired me to study Nutritional Therapy and support women in feeling their best.

Where did you get the idea for your brand?

We were both working in female health within our private nutrition practices and saw countless women and young girls struggling each month with a range of PMS symptoms and hormonal imbalances. At the time, we were recommending multiple supplements to provide effective support, as no single product on the market combined the right nutrients in the researched forms and doses. However, we quickly realised this approach wasn’t a sustainable solution - it was expensive, overwhelming, and difficult to maintain long-term.

We wanted to change that. So, we create a blend that combines the most effective nutrients in the right doses and forms for PMS and overall hormonal health, and that’s how Gigi was born.

What makes your brand unique?

The relationship we have with our community of Gigi girlies is another thing that makes us unique. They are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in constant communication with our community, from involving them in taste-testing new flavours to running a 12-week Gigi Focus Group to gather real feedback on how our blend supports their hormonal health. 

We take all their feedback onboard and are always looking for ways to improve and innovate based on their needs. How do you support your community?

Every month, Gigi hosts free educational events—both online and in person—covering a range of female health topics, from PCOS and fertility to general well-being. We've been lucky to have incredible experts join us, including pharmacist and Meaghers Pharmacy owner Oonagh O’Hagan, as well as fertility specialist Dr. Codruta and Aisling O’Kelly from AOK Nutrition. 

We also create and share educational content across all our social media channels, helping to support our community on topics that can often feel confusing or overwhelming. Our goal is to empower women with clear, reliable information, so they know they can turn to us as a trusted source for their hormonal health.

What has been the most rewarding part of your brand’s journey?

We receive the most incredible reviews from our customers (aka our Gigi Girlies), sharing their journey with Gigi. Women tell us they’re regaining their confidence, feeling more like themselves, are no longer suffering from intense menstrual cramps or low mood. Others who have tried everything for their skin say our PMS & Hormone Balance Blend is the only thing that has truly helped their hormonal acne. We never tire of reading how our blend is transforming women’s lives!

We’re an impact driven brand, as Nutritional Therapists who could see the statistics and first hand through our clients, just how much women we’re struggling with debilitating symptoms every single month. We spent a year formulating the PMS & Hormone Balance Blend using the latest clinical research, understanding exactly which nutrients, in what doses actually make a difference - seeing how much it has improved thousands of women’s lives has been the most rewarding part.

What in your opinion makes Irish brands unique?

Irish brands are known for their quality, trust and putting their customer at the forefront. There’s a real sense of care behind what we create and consumers know they’re getting products they can rely on. More and more, Irish brands are also leading the way in sustainability, which is fantastic to see. There’s a real commitment to making products that not only support customers but also the planet.

What is your favourite product from your brand?

Our debut product the PMS & Hormone Balance Blend. I love our new flavour - Orange & Grapefruit, while Jennie switches between Lemonade and Orange & Grapefruit every few days!

Tell us about something that has shaped your brand?

I believe two things have really shaped Gigi. Firstly, the diverse backgrounds and skillsets that Jennie and I bring have made us strong collaborators, allowing us to combine a wide range of expertise and create something really impactful for women.

Secondly, our customers - they are fundamental to Gigi, and we wouldn’t be where we are without their constant support and feedback!

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

As we continue to grow, we want Gigi to be the go-to global brand for female hormonal health so we can support women at every stage of their life.
