TERRANOVA FERMENTED REISHI (Ganoderma Lucidum), known as immortality
mushroom, is one of the most prominent and respected medicinal mushrooms due to its
broad range of medicinal properties. It contains many biologically active substances including polysaccharides, terpenes and steroids which are responsible for the wide range of therapeutic properties found in this mushroom. The patented submerged cultivation technology is utilised and is the most effective way to manage the identity and purity of reishi, while maximising absorption, bioavailability and potency.

Reishi Mushroom often referred to as ‘mushroom of immortality’ has been the subject of scientific investigation for its wide-ranging health-giving properties. The Eastern world has been using reishi for thousands of years, particularly in China and Japan where reishi tea was used to promote vigour and long life.

Among other benefits, research suggests that reishi may support the body’s defences again neurasthenia, a condition typically associated with nervous exhaustion and a generally low sense of wellbeing.
Studies have analysed the bioactive compounds within reishi mushroom and have found over 400 compounds within the fruiting body, mycelia and spores. The primary active compounds include triterpenoids, polysaccharides, nucleotides, sterols, steroids, fatty acids, proteins, trace mineral elements, vitamins and amino acids.
Reishi is a rich source of β-Glucans (beta-glucans), a group of β-D-glucose polysaccharides, which have been scientifically shown to support the immune system by enhancing macrophages and natural killer cell function.
The polysaccharides Ganoderma A, B, C found in reishi, have been shown in studies to have blood sugar lowering effects via several mechanisms including increasing plasma insulin and decreasing plasma sugar levels. Triterpenes are also present in reishi and ganoderic acid has been shown in studies to ease the symptoms of allergies by inhibiting
the release of histamine. Additionally, it can improve the body’s use of oxygen and help support optimal liver function.
Terranova fermented mushrooms are produced utilising a unique technology (known as submerged cultivation) whereby the mycellium are cultivated on a sterile liquid substrate. The substrate is adapted to each different mushroom. One major benefit of this production method is that the growth medium can be easily separated from the
mycelium by filtration. This process retains not only the mycelium, but also all extracellular beta glucans which are water soluble and very easily absorbed, hence more bioavailable, ensuring the highest activity/potency. Additionally, the end product retains no traces of the growth medium or substrate.
