Suma’s chick peas are one of the most popular beans at Evergreen. Chick peas, which also known as garbanzo beans, are a delicious, nutty flavoured bean. They are most most commonly used to make hummus, falafels and curries but also make an excellent addition to a number of dishes including salads, stews and casseroles. Chickpeas are very nutritious, particularly for vegetarians and vegans because of their high protein content. They are also a good source of manganese, folate, copper, phosphorus, iron and zinc.
