Vitamin B Complex

B-complex vitamins are important nutrients that contribute to your health in a number of ways, including supporting energy and brain function.  Evergreen Healthfoods stock a wide range of vitamin B-complex supplements in a number of forms including tablets, capsules, nuggets, sprays and liquids. What is a Vitamin B-Complex ?

A vitamin B-complex is a dietary supplement which contains all eight essential B vitamins, including B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), B3 (Niacin), B5 (Pantothenic Acid), B6 (Pyridoxine), B12 (Methylcobalamin), B7 (Biotin) and B9 (Folic Acid). B-complex vitamins are water soluble, meaning unused quantities are excreted from the body regularly. This means that if you are not regularly consuming foods which contain the B vitamins you may not be getting enough?

 

What are good sources of B-vitamins?

Cereals and whole grains provide good levels of (B1, B2, and B3), eggs deliver B7 and B12, green leafy vegetables provide B2 and B9), chicken B3, B6, and B12) and nuts contain B3 and B9.  If you don't consumer enough of these goods your body may not be receiving the optimum number of B-complex vitamins needed and may become deficient. It can be difficult to ensure you are consuming enough with diet alone. For that reason, B-complex supplementation may be necessary.
