What is Copper ?

Copper is the third most prevalent mineral in the body - an essential mineral, meaning it cannot be produced by the body and must be consumed through food sources. Copper can be found in many food sources including meat, nuts, avocados, beans and whole grains. Copper should be consumed in the diet daily as it is used up in many of the body’s processes.

Why is Copper important for the body?

Copper helps the body absorb and utilize iron into red blood cells which helps prevent anaemia. It also plays a role in making energy from carbohydrates inside of the cell. Copper also plays an important role in helping the metabolic process of amino acids and vitamins.
