Pearl Couscous, which is also known as Israeli couscous, it similar to regular couscous in that it’s a small, grain like food made from semolina and wheat flour and can be used in many of the same dishes. This is a cholesterol free and fat free product that is low in sodium and rich in many essential nutrients including vitamin C, potassium, protein and fibre. It is a low glycemic index (GI) food, meaning it will help keep you full for longer. However, it is also dense in calories so should be eaten in moderation when on a low-calorie diet. Pearl couscous, like regular couscous is quite bland on its own and so needs to be prepared using seasonings, spices, herbs and sauces.
